The English Language

FYI: This poem is inspired by the British and hope by reading, it's value doesn't diminish!

The language of English is amusing.
Where else would you
Read something
That goes,
‘What was the atmosphere when Past, Present & Future
Walked into a bar?’

And the reply was,
'It was Tense'.

If you're asking for more,
There has got to be one on the Bard for sure.

I heard Shakespeare always chose the mighty pen,
Since pencils were either 2B or not 2B then.

I love visiting the local aquarium on a holiday.
It's reassuring to know,
Someone else apart from me,
Is in deep water everyday.
Then I see this squid come along.
And I wonder,
If it was a group,
Would they be called a squad?

I should take a short break now.
Since my photographic memory needs to develop somehow.
Until then remember one thing,
Life’s pointless says Geometry.
So resort to English instead,
Because it’s so punny!
